Amanda Michelle Seyfried started off in the movie industry since the young age of 10. At 24 years of age, coming from Pennsylvania, she was born on 3rd Dec 1985.
Her first work was that of a model when she got a contract with Image International Agency. She changed for 2 others and stopped modeling at the age of 17. During the modeling time, she also took singing lesion to work on her voice. She was a model, a singer and now an actress. She got into TV earlier than 2000, but her appearances were unnoticed.
The major recognition came from portraying Lucy Montogmerie for 27 episodes on As the World Turns and between 2002-2003 in All My Children. She also made appearances in Law & Order: SVU, Veronica Mars, CSI and American Dad. Movie career started off with her playing the supporting role in Mean Girls alongside Lindsey Lohan. Since then she had the lead and supporting roles in Nine Lives, Mamma Mia!, Jennifer's Body and Letters to Juliet (lead) and American Gun, Aloha Dog and Solstice (supporting) amongst many others.
She's been in a relationship for 2 years with Jesse Merchant from 2006 but this came to an end. She appeared on the lists of the most beautiful people, most beautiful faces and young stars, and Amanda's best ranking was #4 in 2009 for People Magazine, for being beautiful at any age. This is a far cry from a girl who had braces when she was modeling and didn't feel pretty at all, but the pays received were enough to get her to buy small simple stuff.
She is not from an already acting family, as her parents were regular white-collar workers. Her love for music and singing may have something to do with the sister that's older than her, who's in a rock band.
